Love isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s silent…
Gabby Cosette has always been dubbed the good girl of quaint Redwood Ridge, Oregon, and being permanently put in the friend zone has left her dating life stagnant. With no prospects in sight, she clings to her friends and resolves to not let loneliness drag her under. So when the town Battleaxes set their matchmaking sights on her, she figures it can’t hurt. Yet the guy they think is perfect for her just happens to be not only her boss at the veterinarian clinic, but her best friend. Sure, Flynn O’Grady is attractive and the nicest guy around, but going there with him would topple both of their carefully constructed worlds and there would be no going back. Even if he is starting to make her girly parts zing.
Having been born deaf, Flynn has already felt like an outsider most of his life. Aside from his brothers, Gabby is about the only person who’s gone out of her way to treat him as more than a handicap. Which is exactly why he’s banked his secret attraction for his sweet, beautiful vet tech. Except his meddling family is trying to play Cupid and ruin the best thing to ever happen to him. Without Gabby, his work as a veterinarian, never mind his personal life, wouldn’t flow. Determined to ignore the antics, he’s secure in the knowledge she’s not interested in him romantically. But then a kiss changes everything . . . and he’s wondering if taking the ultimate shot at love might be worth the risk.
First Line: “Gabby Cosette smoothed her hand down the simple baby blue sundress she meticulously picked out for this evening and tried not to look too eager. Or throw up.”
Over the river and through the woods… and now we’re back in Oregon.
Is that Dr. Flynn O’Grady down there? OooEEE. Forget the bungee chord! Just chuck me off that sweet edge into Kelly Moran’s abyss of perfection with Flynn O’Grady waiting for me at the bottom!
Tracking You is the second glorious book in the Redwood Ridge Series (Puppy Love being the first). Do not fret, these books are stand-alones, but stand alone you shall NOT because Kelly Moran will give you the tour of your life through the small town of Redwood Ridge!
Gabby Cosette is the buddy. The pal. The girl who always gets placed in the “friend zone.” Flynn O’Grady doesn’t do any better when it comes to love, and he gets declined merely because he is deaf. The two are bound to be single for life; complete rejects waiting for someone to see beyond the façade.
… And the town wants GABBY to run the kissing booth at the Spring Fling carnival? (LOLZ)
‘Uh… I don’t think that’s a good idea.’ Who would pay to kiss her when she couldn’t get anyone to do it for free?
But, of course, Flynn understands her frustration. He’s her other half and always has been since they met in kindergarten. Yes, kindergarten. Swoon. (Kelly Moran is giving us the crème de la crème of hibernating love here!)
25 years later, Gabby is Dr. Flynn O’Grady’s assistant at the animal clinic his family owns. Their work is fluid. Their communication is unparalleled. Their connection is un-freaking-deniable… Except Gabby keeps denying the fact that anyone could possibly see her as more than a friend, and Flynn isn’t helping the situation by thinking he’s not good enough for her. For two people who have impeccable powers of reading each other… they are terrible when it comes to interpreting their mutual attraction.
Are you in this with me, Gabby?”
Ummm YEA she is! But this whole we’re-best-friends-and-this-is-forbidden thing needs to stop! You just need to put the scalpel down, channel your inner Aladdin, and enter the CAVE OF WONDERS!
My feelings have always been there, Gabby. I shut them down to maintain…us.
He did WHAT, now? And how long did he wait to say this? (Too long!) Oh Flynn, you are sending this woman on an emotional rollercoaster and I’m afraid her heart isn’t going to come out in one piece.
He’d been taking advantage of her for years. Nearly his entire life.”
…Yah and when he finally realizes this, it’s too late.
In Tracking You, we have two best friends: Gabby who always puts others before herself, and Flynn who hasn’t quite realized that he can’t function without her. But is their friendship worth risking? Isn’t this always the question when friends become lovers?… When things turn sour, can Flynn and Gabby really go back to how things were before? Because it will go south. Kelly Moran makes sure that this relationship slowly corrodes leaving us dangling off the edge. Can I maybe get that bungee chord back? Just in case Flynn isn’t there to catch me.
While I adore Gabby’s transformation from disbelief to trust, Flynn stole my heart here. Is he my #1 book boyfriend this week? Yes. And the week has only just begun! We have a man who is completely lost in his own mind, and finally learns to speak out loud, and say what (and who) he wants. (And a beautiful voice Flynn has, indeed!) With Flynn’s terrible timing, let’s just hope it’s not too late. Because with him, it’s always too late.
The Redwood Ridge Series is the embodiment of perfection and Tracking You is feverishly delicious. Kelly Moran revved me up, stalled me, then sent me into overdrive! Kelly’s writing is pure and poetic, and this emotional roller coaster was exhilarating and so totally swoon-worthy.
Just send me into the Kelly Moran Abyss already! Bungee chord or not, I’ll take the risk.
